SCA officially opened new window components plant in Pitea, Sweden

Norrbotten County Governor Per-Ola Eriksson and SCA CEO Jan Johansson inaugurated SCA’s new window components plant at the Munksund Sawmill in Piteå, Sweden. The investment of nearly SEK 100 million ($12.5 million) creates 24 new jobs, as the company informed Lesprom Network.

Stora Enso Timber opens planing mill in Estonia

Stora Enso Timber has today opened a new planing mill for strength-graded wood products at Paikuse Sawmill in Estonia. The investment of EUR 3.6 million covers the planing mill and the expansion of the log sorting line. The strength-graded and regularised products are targeted to the industrial building sector in Europe and overseas markets. The log sorting line was expanded with 20 additional log pockets in order to ensure the needed length-sorting capacity. The planing mill is operated as integrated part of the Paikuse Sawmill. It started its operations already in July, and is now running at full capacity of 80 000 m3/a.
